Atltico Madrid, officially known as Club Atltico de Madrid, is one of the most storied football clubs in Spain and Europe. Founded in 1903, the club has a rich history filled with triumphs, challenges, and a passionate fan base.

Atltico Madrid was established on April 26, 1903, by a group of students from the Complutense University of Madrid. Initially, the club was a branch of Athletic Bilbao and was known as Athletic Club de Madrid. In 1921, it became an independent club and adopted the name Club Atlético de Madrid.

The early years were marked by regional competitions, but Attico quickly rose to prominence. They won their first Copa del Rey in 1911 and enjoyed success in the 1920s and 1930s, establishing themselves as one of Spain's top teams.

After the Spanish Civil War, Attico Madrid experienced a golden era. The club won its first La Liga title in 1940 and went on to secure several more championships throughout the 1940s and 1950s. The team's success was bolstered by talented players like Francisco Gento and Miguel González.
